On December 19th Wounded Warrior Support Foundation Held its Traditional Annual Charity Gala Dinner and Presented the Report of its 2025 Activities

Wounded Warrior Support Foundation held its traditional charity gala dinner on the New Year’s eve, on December 19th and presented the report of its activities of 2025 to the invited society.

The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Defense, Paata Patiashvili, representatives of Ministry of Defense of Georgia, ambassadors and defense attachés of different countries, NATO Liaison Officer and representatives of different sphere of society. The very special guests were wounded warriors – military servicemen and veterans, who got wounded in wars for territorial integrity of Georgia as well as International Peace Missions.

Founder of WWSF, George Ramishvli addressed the gathered society with a speech:

“This year WWSF spent 1 150 000 GEL in cooperation with the MOD, where the fund’s share is 835 000 GEL. It is especially important, that a focus was made not only on issues related to medical assistance. More often we stress an accent on supporting education and professional re-skilling of our heroes, as well as their underaged children and wives, gaining new profession and establishing small ventures. We think, this is an important milestone in order to improve our warriors’ everyday lives and the quality of their life.

Silknet will always continue supporting the WWSF. I am proud, that we are a part of this fund. I am extending my profound gratitude to our heroes for their devotion. I also want to thank all the contributors.“

General Director of WWSF made yearly report. He spoke about the supporting activities and the projects, realized by the fund:

„I believe we all made our best in order to support wounded veterans and military servicemen in a very important and useful way. We doubled support for spouses and underaged children compared to the last year.  We financed courses of professional re-qualification for  wounded warriors’ spouses. The aim f this activity was to help them acquire new skills and get the basic information which will allow them to start up their small enterprise in future. It’s been several years, since the British Embassy has been financing the English language courses for the underage children of wounded military servicemen. More than 100 children passed these courses. Besides, the fund started cooperation with the school – Leaders Academy Sabado, established under the initiative of David Bejuashvili’s Educational Fund. I want to use the opportunity of mentioning the support from Tbilisi Defense Attaches Association. With the Association and the Ministry of Defense of Georgia’s support it’s for the 3rd year in a row, since the charity run takes place for supporting Georgian Wounded Warriors.  I thank all supporters. I think that any kind of support is essential in order to respect our heroes and take care for their complete re-integration in society“.

WWSF supported 160 beneficiaries in 2025. 489 000 GEL was spent for 63 military servicemen and  346 000 was spent for 97 veterans in order to address their urgent needs.  With the raised amounts the fund provided financing of medical services and different learning and professional courses for wounded warriors’ families.

The guests on the gala dinner were saluted by WWSF friends from oversees. In his video messages  the US army (retired) general, Wesley Clark, who is a biggest supporter of the und from the scratch, said:

“And here at the Christmas time it’s such a privilege and honor to be able to say a couple of words to you and Georgia who share our values. You know freedom is not free and men and women who served in the continental army in the United States- before it was United States in the 18th century, sacrificed a lot and it has been the case all through history. So today you gathered to recognize those who served and fought for freedom, democracy and human rights in Georgia, and I think it’s a very worthy time of the year to do it. At Christmas we should be recognizing the gifts we’ve been given and surely the gift of freedom and democracy is the greatest gift that men and women can give to their nation. So I encourage you to enjoy the evening, welcome to all of you and please remember that America stands with Georgia and all of your aspirations. Thank you”.

The honorable member of WWSF board and the honorable council of Georgia in South Carolina, David Shimp addressed the invited guests in his video message: “Gamarjoba. Good evening my friends from Charleston, South Carolina. I’m Dave Shimp, a very proud member of the WWSF board. It’s an honor to speak to you this evening. During this very special time of hope and reflection our thoughts turn gracefully and most gratefully to you. Because of your generosity this year seen many exceptional activities in support of Georgia’s brave soldiers and veterans, heroes all. Those with wounds that can be seen and some with such dire wounds, that can’t be seen. WWSF has provided these heroes who have sacrificed so much with needed medical treatment as well as specialized training in new life’s skills. This important training empowers them to again embrace the fullest measure the self confidence and self respect and to get their lives back. WWSF is doing so much in so many ways that will change heir lives in such a positive way forever. With an overjoyed heart for your compassionate help I wish you all a wonderful evening and the most blessed Christmas Eve. Dzala Ertobashia“.

An important milestone of the fund activities was empowered by signing of the memorandum between the WWSF and the Leaders Academy Sabado, established by the initiative of David Bejuashvili Educational Fund.  The school represents an example of an informal educational hub, where beneficiaries of the fund can study free of charge. This school is a place for embracing the new opportunities and discovering one’s own ways for a future generation to become leaders.   “Sabado” is a school for children with special skills, offering them masterclasses and workshops in various spheres. The kids are given the opportunity to meet famous interesting people, talk to them ask questions and listen to their success stories.

The first donations were raised for the next year during the charity gala dinner. The accumulated amount made around 200 000 GEL. Donating will continue during the next year. Company Silknet will sponsor with its yearly pledged amount of 300 000 GEL as the main sponsor of Wounded Warrior Support Foundation.
