On October 17 Veterans Day is celebrated in Georgia. In connection with this occasion, a special ceremony was held at the State Service of Veterans Affairs, which was attended by Prime Minister, other government officials, veterans, their family members and other invited guests. The ceremony was hosted by director of State Service of Veterans Affairs, Koba Kobaladze. He thanked everyone for attending and commemorating Georgia’s veterans on this day. In his speech with media he mentioned about a special importance of support to veterans being provided by Wounded Warrior Support Foundation for years.
Also in connection with this day there was held a presentation at V. Sanikidze War Veterans Clinical Hospital. The Wounded Warrior Support Foundation has co-financed purchasing of an additional item for the computer tomography machine, which was donated by the Office of Defense Cooperation of the U.S. Embassy in Georgia through the U.S. European command humanitarian assistance program. The latest medical equipment will allow the hospital serve veterans with the latest technology to provide advanced medical services.
On the Veterans Day Silknet offered a special charitable campaign of “SilkFest” - internet and voice packages to its mobile network subscribers. All activations from 17 October “SilkFest” camgaign is donated to WWSF.
